Signal Hill Trail
An invigorating journey through history and nature with spectacular views at every turn
Kota Kinabalu City Treetop Walk
The Signal Hill Trail is Kota Kinabalu's first elevated forest walkway, connecting two of the city's most iconic hilltop landmarks: the Atkinson Clock Tower and the Signal Hill Observatory Tower. Located within walking distance of the city centre, this 500-metre trail offers a unique opportunity to experience nature, heritage, and panoramic city views in a single, seamless walk.
Suspended through the forest canopy and supported by six towers, the trail features eight scenic viewing decks that offer sweeping views of Kota Kinabalu’s skyline, the South China Sea, and the surrounding green slopes of Signal Hill. The full walk takes approximately 30–60 minutes, depending on pace and photo stops, making it an easy and accessible activity for both visitors and locals.
Set above the city yet surrounded by greenery, the Signal Hill Trail provides a peaceful escape from urban streets while remaining close to major attractions such as Gaya Street, Jesselton Point, and the Kota Kinabalu Waterfront.
